On May 25, 2010, the president Hosni Mubarak opened the Mubarak International Airport in Sohag.
The airport is located on an area of 18 kilometers south of the New Sohag City and will encourage development, projects and investments in Upper Egypt. The airport is expected to receive three flights a week at the beginning of operation.
The facade is covered by 3000 sqm of solar control glass: SGG COOL-LITE ST 767. This coated blue glass is assembled in double-glazed units, and tempered to increase its mechanical resistance.
